SHANGHAI, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Steel futures closed lower Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active construction steel rebar contract for October delivery was down 4 yuan (about 57 U.S. cents) to close at 3,384 yuan a tonne.
