Hebei starts level II emergency response for Heavy Pollution Weather, Steel Mills Limit Production

After the joint consultation of Hebei Province Environmental Emergency and Heavy Pollution Weather Warning Center, China National Environmental Monitoring Centre (CNEMC) and Hebei Environmental Meteorological Center, it is expected that from the night of December 13, there will be south wind, the wind power will weaken, the relative humidity will increase, the inversion and high humidity will lead to further deterioration of diffusion conditions and rapid accumulation of pollutants, and PM2.5 heavy pollution may occur in the central, southern and eastern parts of Hebei Province. Region one (Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Hengshui, Xingtai, Handan, Dingzhou, Xinji, Xiongan New Area) and region two (Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Langfang, Cangzhou) will reach the orange warning level.


In accordance with the requirements of the Emergency Plan for Heavily Polluted Weather in Hebei Province, the first and second cities in the region and relevant member units are requested to issue an orange warning at 12:00 on December 13 to start the level II emergency response for heavily polluted weather, and the specific time for lifting the warning shall be determined according to the results of consultation and judgment.
